Ooooh I have no patience but am finding that I HAVE to have patience so that things are done right. After much nudging from a few people I have decided to put out the body butters again. (Although I’m suspecting that these friends have pushed me to make it just for themselves….oh yes I do and you selfish goils know who you are!)

I’ve found that the body butter without any added scents, but just the natural scents flowing through seems to be what most people love; but I’m also going to be putting out scented ones. Since I’ll have 8lbs of shea butter and 8 lbs of cocoa butter plus a large quantity of other oils that go into the butters to play with. Oh my gawd what have I done?! That’s a whole lot of poundage to play with if I think on it too hard I will surely give myself an anxiety attack!

Since I’ll have all of this extra goodness, also in the mix will be a salve/balm/unguent type product for Eczema, Psoriasis and other skin conditions. There are two new base oils I’ve never worked with and am really curious to see how they work out. The first one is Sacha Inchi oil. Organic Sacha Inchi Oil easily penetrates the skin and is highly moisturizing. It is rich in tocopherols (Vitamin E) and other antioxidants. Sacha Inchi Oil possesses a unique balance of Omega 3, 6 and 9 essential fatty acids not found in other vegetable oils. It can aid in the relief of itchy, scaly, irritated skin. Containing Vitamin A, Sacha Inchi is a good choice for inclusion within blends intended for acne or blemished skin. It is a natural anti-oxidant, restores moisture balance, improves the complexion and reduces the appearance of tiny age lines.

Sacha Inchi is good for:

    Sensitive Skin
Eczema, Psoriasis and Other Skin Conditions
    Dry, Cracked Skin
    Mature, Aging Skin
    Acne and Blemished Skin
    General Skin and Body Care
    Dry, Brittle and Damaged Hair
    Lip Care
    Nail Care

Properties:

    Light Texture
    Rapid Absorption
    Highly Moisturizing
    Natural Emollient
    Golden Color
    Mild, Distinct, Nutty Aroma
Contains Noteworthy Levels of Vitamins A and E
Rich in Essential and Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids
    Linolenic Acid
    Linoleic Acid
    Oleic Acid
    Palmitic Acid
    Stearic Acid
    Noteworthy Antioxidant

The second new base oil is called Karanja Oil, Pongamia glabra, is pressed from the seeds of the Pongam Tree. This cousin of Neem offers an array of similar therapeutic benefits to that of its pungent relative. It is also known to be an insect repellant, so that could open the doors for a base oil for a bug repellent Em-Balm! Here in the South the bugs have already started dining upon us so I am really looking forward to making some Bug Off.

In skin care, Karanja Oil can be used to treat

Eczema, Psoriasis, skin ulcers, dandruff, or to promote wound healing.

While its therapeutic properties are similar to Neem Oil, its aroma is quite different.(THANKFULLY!) Karanja Oil has a milder, more versatile aroma than Neem Oil that is often described as nutty.

So there you have it! Look for a couple of blends to be released this weekend (not butters, but aromatherapy oil blends.)
